Let's take a look at a very unique individual that I like to refer at as a "HERO"; Nick Vujicic!



Born with no arms or legs, Nick Vujicic gives an inspiring testimony about overcoming circumstances in one's life. Nick Vujicic (born December 4, 1982) is a preacher, a motivational speaker and the director of Life Without Limbs, an organization for the physically disabled. 

Early life
The first-born child in his devout Serbian Christian family, Nick Vujicic was born in Melbourne, Australia with the rare Tetra-amelia disorder: limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, and having one small foot with two toes protruding from his left thigh. Initially, his parents were devastated. Vujicic was otherwise healthy.

Growing up
His life was filled with difficulties and hardships. One was not being able to attend a mainstream school because of his physical disability, as the law of Australia required, even though he was not mentally impaired. During his schooling, the laws were changed, and Nick was one of the first disabled students to be migrated to a mainstream school. He learned to write using the two toes on his left "foot," and a special device that slid onto his big toe to grip. He also learned to use a computer and type using the "heel and toe" method (as demonstrated in his speeches). He can also throw tennis balls and answer the phone (also demonstrated in speeches). 

Epiphany
Being bullied at his school, Nick grew extremely depressed, and by the age of eight, started contemplating suicide. After begging God to grow arms and legs, Nick eventually began to realize that his accomplishments were inspirational to many, and began to thank God he was alive. A key turning point was a newspaper article about a man dealing with severe disability that his mother showed him when he was 12, that led him to realise he wasn't the only one with major struggles. When he was seventeen, he started to give talks at his prayer group[5], and eventually started his non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs.

Wherever you decide to look, that is what you'll see!
You are the one taking the decision as to where you are focusing your internal camera on.
There are some that get out of balance by minor things, there are some -You might call them heroes- who will turn every weakness into a strength.
Are you focusing on the obstacles, or are you celebrating these obstacles in your life because they make you stronger and tougher?
Don't ask for better cards, learn instead to play better with the hand of cards you have now!
Are you out to find excuses or more reasons?

A tribute to Jim Rohn

The Passing of a Legend

With great sadness we share that Jim Rohn, our mentor and friend, left us December 5, 2009 for a better place.

Over the past 18 months, in his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Jim assured us with a smile that all is good, that he would fight until the last breath, yet he had no fear as to what would be next. Jim’s faith was as much a part of his life as his desire to inspire and challenge us all to be the best we could be and to live our dreams.

Jim’s courage in his final months and days were a testament to his message that we should all fight the good fight. He never gave up and never gave in.

Jim Rohn touched millions of lives over the past 46 years through his seminars, books, articles and CDs. He always stayed long after an event to shake hands, take pictures and sign autographs. He loved making a difference in people’s lives, that was his passion and inspiration. Yet he was also a private man who kept a small, loyal and caring inner circle. He was a tremendous friend to those who knew him.

Harold Dyke, long time close friend of Jim’s for over 55 years said it best, “As Jim is ending one life he is simultaneously being birthed into a new life. One that he has talked about over the years and anticipated with great joy in his last remaining days.”

Kyle Wilson, long time colleague and friend of Jim had this to say about his mentor, “Jim Rohn was a great human being. Jim had the rare ability to take any concept or idea and then frame it in such a way that the rest of us could see it more clearly. His wisdom and insights positively affected everyone he touched on some level and to so many of us it was in an extraordinary way. But even more impressive was Jim Rohn the man. He possessed style and charisma, yet was humble, kind and understated to all who knew him. I find myself every day reflecting, benefiting and passing on the wisdom and ideas that are rooted in Jim’s message and wisdom. Jim is irreplaceable on every level. I will miss him beyond words, but am comforted as I know he was, that his message and legacy will live on and positively change millions of lives over the years to come!”

Someone once said “when you are born you enter the world crying while everyone else is rejoicing and when you die hopefully you have lived such a life that everyone will be crying while you are rejoicing”. Jim Rohn lived such a life.

Jim’s family asked us to thank all of you for your concern, prayers and love toward their father and grandfather, which has been so evident during the past 18 months.

Darren Hardy, dedicated student and Jim Rohn protégé for more than 15 years, said of Jim, “He was the most influential man in my life, second only to my father. Jim cemented my philosophical foundation and nourished my mind with ideas and ambitions never before imagined. He chiseled my character seminar by seminar, tape by tape, book by book, then CD by CD, hour by hour. Jim emboldened my belief, in me and in my most daring dreams. When I fell and was bloodied, he was there with encouraging words to help me get back up. When I didn’t think I could go on, Jim convinced me I was stronger than I imagined. When I wanted a shortcut, he reminded me there aren’t any. Even when I got too caught up in trying to achieve and succeed, Jim compelled me to leave room to live, to laugh and to love.”

Stuart Johnson, business associate and long-time admirer, said, “I was first introduced to the philosophies and teachings of Jim Rohn almost 25 years ago. And he made an immediate impression on me. I was amazed by how this modest and unassuming man could communicate such an extraordinarily powerful message in simple and straightforward terms. In person, one-on-one, he was as humble and down-to-earth as he was in front of an audience of thousands. I will treasure my personal memories of Jim and know that I will forever benefit from the wisdom of this remarkable man.”

There will be a private funeral held in the coming days. Plans and details are also being arranged for a Public Memorial Service to be held in the Los Angeles area in the coming weeks. Details will be announced upon final confirmation.

We know Mr. Rohn is looking down on us at this very moment with a smile saying I did it, I gave it my all, I went for it, now it’s your turn. Go for it. Make your life a life worth living well!

Het levensverhaal van Andrew Carnegie

Nadat hij Engeland enkele malen had bezocht, was Andrew Carnegie al snel overtuigd dat staalproductie de nieuwe markt zou worden. En dat in plaats van het courante ijzer. Dat is wanneer hij besloot verschillende kleinere ijzermijnen en fabrieken op te kopen.

Rond het jaar 1988 kocht Carnegie het rivaliserende Homestead Steel Works en werkte hij verder aan de ontwikkeling van de Carnegie Steel Companie. Met een geschat vermogen van $25 miljoen werd Carnegie nu de eigenaar van 's werelds grootste staalmaatschappij.

Carnegie sloeg de spreekwoordelijke nagel op de kop want de impact van staal op de komende industriele revolutie was enorm. Ondertussen groeide de Carnegie Steel Company tot een totaal aan winsten van ver boven de $38 Miljoen, en dit in de eerste 10 jaar van zijn bestaan. Tegen eind jaren 1880 werd Andrew Carnegie de grootste producent ter wereld van zuiver ijzer, stalen rails en cokes.

In het jaar 1889 benoemde Andrew Carnegie de jonge Henry Frick als de nieuwe president van de Carnegie Company. Tijdens een poging de winsten nog te verhogen, verlaagde Frick de lonen van alle werknemers waardoor in 1892 het Carnegie Homestead fabriek in staking ging. Als antwoord hierop bracht Frick 300 staking verbrekers binnen. Een hele dag werden er zware gevechten gevoerd tussen de twee rivaliserende groepen, waarbij men er op het einde van de dag een dramatische telling van 10 doden en een zestigtal zwaargewonden op nahielden.

Carnegie was buiten zichzelf van boosheid tegenover Frick en in 1899 kocht hij deze laatste uit voor $15 Miljoen. Vanaf die dag organiseerde Carnegie zijn volledig bedrijf volgens democratische normen, waarbij hij al zijn werknemers de garantie en zekerheid bood dat hun eigen inzet ook daadwerkelijk een merkbaar verschil ging uitmaken binnen zijn bedrijf. Zijn unieke aandelen boni werd een succesformule waardoor het bedrijf uiteindelijk steeds sterker en sterker werd.

Een andere hefboom die Carnegie creëerde was een incentive systeem waarbij hij de verschillende werknemers op een constructieve manier tegen mekaar liet wedijveren. Hierdoor motiveerde en inspireerde hij hen tot de hoogste productiviteit. Carnegie bouwde zijn bedrijven om tot beperkte partnerships , waarbij hij steeds de controlerende partner bleef. Hij verkocht nooit een enkel aandeel publiek.

Een van de ultieme sleutels van de verbluffende groei binnen zijn bedrijf was zijn tegendraadse investeringspolicy. Terwijl zijn concurrenten hun winsten herinvesteerden gedurende de hoogdagen van de markt, wachtte Carnegie tot wanneer de markt keerde wanneer de prijzen het laagst waren. Deze strategie gaf zijn bedrijf een enorme boost tijdens de economische recessie van 1893 tot 1897.

In voorbereiding van zijn pensioen, rond de leeftijd van 65, transformeerde Carnegie zijn privé bedrijven naar publieke bedrijven. En op 2 Maart 1901 deed de gerenommeerde Amerikaanse bankier John Pierpont Morgan een succesvol bod, wat toen resulteerde in de grootste overname ooit in de geschiedenis. Dit resulteerde in het etablissement van de US Steel Corporation, het eerste $Miljarden concern ter wereld.

Andrew Carnegie collecteerde hierbij bijna $230,000,000 in obligaties uit deze verkoop, wat hem een van 's werelds rijkste mensen maakte.

Op zijn oudere leeftijd begon Carnegie zijn enorm fortuin aan te wenden voor goede doelen, in het voordeel van het publiek en als ondersteuning voor sociale vooruitgang. Hij stichtte verschillende publieke bibliotheken in de VS, in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en in andere Engelstalige landen. Hij stichtte ook verscheidene fondsen ter ondersteuning van kunst, wetenschap en patriottisme.

Wanneer hij stierf in 1919 werd er een schatting opgemaakt van alle fondsen die hij zou hebben geschonken en weggegeven. Men kwam aan het verbluffende bedrag van $350,695,653 terwijl hij leefde, waarna zijn overlijden er nog eens een bijkomend totaal van $30,000,000 werd weggeschonken.

Andrew Carnegie blijft vandaag nog steeds een unicum, een meester filantroop en een overvloedige bron van inspiratie.

Ik bewonder deze man mateloos, vandaar dat ik jullie vandaag graag zijn levensverhaal deel.

3 Pillars to Success in Life

Yesterday I received on e-mail of a distant friend asking me a very straightforward question; "Leo, how do I get successful?" Now, this isn't an easy one-two-three answer! Let me have a go on this one,...

FIRST: Get some CLARITY and FOCUS!

-You need to have a clear and compelling VISION, where attention goes, energy flows and results finally show. FOCUS is where the energy goes to. Write it out and make it compelling.

-You absolutely need very strong REASONS to follow through. Forget about pushing your way towards succeeding, you want to be pulled into it.

-When you wake up in the morning, nothing else can be on your mind. Sort of like a very sound obsession, you don't want to do anything else.

-Be completely HONEST about where you are today. If people ask you where is Russia, it all depends where you are. It's different when you are in Belgium, Hungary, Sicily or the US. First pinpoint where you are, where to start from.

SECOND: Get the best TOOLS!

-The fast track to success is finding MENTORS, people who are already succeeding huge in the areas of your life where you would like to excel. Get proven maps how to get there, mentors know the shortcuts!

-Then start modelling them. Do exactly the same as they do, imitate them, their behaviors, their actions, their reactions, their focus, their "modus operandi".

-Start with setting high STANDARDS. Put your limiting ego aside and don't try to re-invent the wheel all over again.  See what works and what doesn't, starting with those things that are already working right now. Then follow that path, copy the successes until it doesn't work any longer, then make some course changes and review your strategical approach.

-Surround yourself with a peer group that keeps tracks of your evolution and your successes. Make sure that they are critical enough to hold you accountable.

-Take DAILY ACTION and start building some consistency. Measure your progress!

THIRD: Unlock what is Stopping You!

-Don't focus on the MECHANICS, they are only accountable for 15%, the rest is 85% PSYCHOLOGY!

-Ask yourself the most important question of all; WHY? The emotional drive behind the WHAT is 100 times more important. Unlock and unleash!

-Ask yourself what beliefs, goals or values might be in conflict? If your goal is to become a super salesman and your number 1 fear is rejection, then you are setting yourself up for failure!

-Align your life with what is most important to you. Ask yourself what is the most important thing for you today?

-Now re-align your PSYCHOLOGY so you naturally take action in the direction you are most passionate about. The direction that is in highest resonance with your highest values.

Er wordt vandaag zo gigantisch veel over geschreven en gepraat, soms minachtend en spottend, dan weer allesomvattend en essentieel.
Wanneer we de huidige geleerden vandaag volgen, dan denk ik dat er eerst een aantal zullen moeten sterven zodat we niet langer alleen de fysische benadering onder onze neus geschoven krijgen.
Ons bewustzijn wordt ook soms omschreven als onze ziel of geest.
Is ons bewustzijn een bijverschijnsel van onze hersenen dan?
Denken, voelen, emoties, dromen, zijn ze een vreemde dans van onze moleculen, een bijproduct van het fysische?
Volgens de wereldvisie van de meest dominerende geleerden alvast wel.
Wanneer verlies je je bewustzijn? Door een klap op je hoofd, door kalmeermiddelen. Dus,...dan is het fysisch?
Stel je voor dat je naar je favoriete zanger luistert op de radio. Je breekt je radio open en je vindt de zanger er niet fysisch terug!
Stel dat je TV stuk is, zou je dan verklaren dat het netwerk plat ligt?
Wanneer je een mooie roos ziet, voelt en ruikt, waar exact gebeuren die sensaties dan? Inderdaad, in je bewustzijn!
Het start allemaal steeds als een subtiele intentie.
De materialistische geleerden zouden gelijk stellen dat het in je hersenen gebeurt.
Vandaag heeft men manieren ontwikkeld waarbij men daadwerkelijk via een bepaalde suikermolecule doorheen je hersenen kan reizen.
Hebben ze daar beelden teruggevonden? Kleuren, geluiden? Nee! Je hersenen zijn donker en vochtig en zien eruit als een overrijpe banaan.
Ze hebben er niets meer teruggevonden dan electro-chemische processen onder de vorm van neuro-peptides. Een reeks positieve en negatieve ladingen die op en neer werden afgevuurd.

Zo is elke religie slechts een expressie van een culturele mythologie. Wanneer ik naar de maan wijs, dien je mijn wijsvinger niet te verafgoden!
Vandaar dat religie niets meer is dan een expressie van onzekerheid. Geloof is iets dat we aanwenden wanneer we niet langer zeker zijn.
Wanneer je jonge katjes opvoedt in een ruimte waar er slechts verticale strepen zichtbaar zijn, zullen ze later alles slechts verticaal herkennen.
Hetzelfde geldt wanneer je de ruimte vult met horizontale strepen.
Dit heet "Premature Cognitive Recognition", waar ik tijdens mijn seminaries meestal naartoe refereer als je geconditioneerde blauwdruk.
Zij die deze patronen verbreken en durven anders en ruimer te denken worden omschreven als gekken, excentriekelingen of ...wijzen!
Wanneer je kijkt naar een mooie rode roos, is er dan een rode lichtstraal die zich naar jouw ogen richt? Is het werkelijk een electro-magnetische energiestraal? Bestaat er werkelijk rood? Er is geen rood! Binnen in je oog, in het synoptische netwerk binnenin je ogen is er ook geen rood te vinden. Waar is het rood dan? In je bewustzijn!
Waar is Brussel? Waar is Amsterdam? In je bewustzijn!
Jij bent niet in je lichaam, je lichaam is in jou! Jij bent niet in je geest, je geest is in jou!
Het is allemaal jij, als een bewustzijn!
